Life fitness
Think
about
life fitness in this way: being physically
fit is something that is not a flash in the pan, but rather a lifetime
pursuit. It’s a fact that life fitness is something that is important
to all people throughout their lives.
But staying healthy
for a whole life is a difficult thing. Life is often compared to a roller
coaster. This comparison is also indicative of the health of a person
throughout a lifetime. There are times when people are very health,
and then there are other times when people are far from being healthy.
Despite some of the difficulties in improving life fitness, there still
are a number of simple things that can be done to improve
physical health. Some of these things require a good deal of physical
exertion, while others simply require people not to be lazy.
But, for everyone,
health and fitness can simply be aided by a few simple things a
day. These things can be done at home, at work, or at play.
Home life fitness tips
1. Give up the riding mower and push for a bit. Doing other things
outdoors like raking, pruning and gardening are other things that can
be done to improve health.
2. Take a short walk. Those who say they don’t have time to exercise
will have trouble finding an excuse for not being able to take a
five-minute walk before breakfast or after dinner. Gradually, as
these walks become more of a habit, the length and pace of the walk
can increase.
3. Exercise
and watch TV simultaneously. A great way to give incentive to oneself
to work out is to watch TV while doing so. By setting up an exercise
bike or treadmill in front of the television, those working out will
think less of how hard it is to run and will focus more on hearing what
is being said on TV.
4. Walk with the phone. Exercising jaws is not enough. By doing something
as simple as pacing back and forth in the kitchen, several calories
can be burned during a phone conversation.
5. Sit up. Doing something as simple is sitting while watching television
as opposed to lying down allow a person to burn a few extra calories
and simply be more alert.
Office life fitness tips
1. Hold a brainstorming session while taking a walk. Not only will
this lead to a healthier body, but will also stimulate ideas because
the walk will take place outside of normal confines.
2. Take a “no e-mail” day. Instead of e-mailing people in
the same building, be a little more active by taking one day a week
to abstain from e-mail. This will not only give an opportunity for a
bit more exercise but it will also encourage more face-to-face communication.
3. Stay at hotels with pools and fitness
centers. By using these amenities while on the road on business
trips, a traveler is able to train himself that fitness is always important,
regardless of which city he is in.
4. Take the bus. Not only does taking the bus reduce stress levels since
bus riders do not have to go through stressing out about traffic, but
it also allows people to walk a bit more. Because most people do not
have a bus station directly in front of their home and directly in front
of their office, there is a distance from the bus to the destination
that must be walked.
5. Work out at noon. Instead of taking a lunch break to chow down, there
are many employees who take advantage of company health and
wellness programs and use their free or discounted gym
memberships during the noon hour instead.
At Play
1. Don’t settle on going to the movies with the family, but instead
consider doing things that require more energy like camping, biking
or hiking. Doing so just a few times will set a precedent that can be
followed over the years.
2. Walk when golfing. One of the best ways to get a better
workout while golfing is to make the decision to
walk the course instead of drive a golf cart. When a gold cart is not
used, the game all of a sudden becomes much more physically demanding.
3. Go dancing. Not only is going dancing a fun activity for a date,
but it is akin to exercise in that those who dance are constantly moving
to the beat of the music. There’s no need to try to work up a
sweat. Even something as simple as a waltz could help keep a person’s
activity rate up.
4. Be a tourist in your own city. The one thing that tourists tend to
do a lot of is walk. And, while they walk they often see things in downtown
areas that locals in cars speed by every day. Take some time to take
a walk downtown. Not only will you see new things, but you will also
improve
your health.
5. Play with kids. Not only is playing with kids fun, but it is also
a great workout since kids have a seemingly endless supply of energy.
Some people play with kids to see how long they can keep up with them.
Create your own
life fitness plan, following these tips, to greatly increase your
chances of living a longer, healthier life.
