We're here to help you stay healthy and fit!

Health is not something we should take for granted, yet obesity and heart disease are rampant in the United States. Being healthy shouldn’t mean dragging yourself to the gym every day to suffer through painful workouts; fitness should be fun and rewarding. Healthy people are generally happier and enjoy a higher-quality of life. With a couple dietary changes and regular (not strenuous) exercise, it’s easy for anyone to become a healthy, happy being.

Maintaining life fitness should be everyone’s goal. Epistis.org is an informational site dedicated to helping people achieve this goal; we support anyone’s desire to change their lifestyle for the sake of being healthy. Our goal is to help you sustain a healthy state of body and mind. Someone who is in good physical fitness has all their body systems working with optimum efficiency: lungs, heart, muscles and blood vessels. With all these working in balance, a person is able to resist illness, accommodate emergencies and engage in physical activity without trouble.

There are three types of exercise: anaerobic, aerobic and flexibility training. Aerobic training emphasizes cardiovascular strength, or exercises require maintaining a rapid heart-rate. These activities include running, swimming and soccer. Anaerobic exercise means strength and muscle building. Any type of weight lifting is considered anaerobic exercise. Flexibility is important in preventing injury while engaged in any of sport oar activity. A physically fit person practices all of these in equal measure.

A lot of people think they need a gym membership to stay in shape; this is not true. Making minor changes to your lifestyle can have beneficial impacts. For example, healthy people just tend to move more, so instead of using an escalator, take the stairs. Do yard work, play with the dog, take a walk; by starting with simple exercises your body will become accustomed faster. There’s no sense in getting in shape by starting off doing a strenuous regiment that will make you hate physical activity. Also, fast food is never a good idea for a snack. Sure, it’s easier and more convenient, but a big cheeseburger will only negate any progress toward a fitter lifestyle. Also be wary of nuts and sandwich meats, mayonnaise, margarine, butter and sauces, which should you should eat in limited amounts only.

It is never too late (or too early) to get started on a goal of life fitness. Browse through our site to find tips on how to get motivated, how to find time to workout and eat right, and much more. We have tips for men’s fitness and women’s fitness. We have tips for making time spent at work, home, and at play healthier.
